TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - There could be new life for Toledo's Showcase Cinemas. The old movie theatre is located on Secor Road between I-475 and Executive Parkway and has been closed since 2005.
City Councilman Tom Waniewski says he's been talking with developers who want to put in two hotels, restaurants and shops on the site.
The Toledo-Lucas County Planning Commission considers the developers proposal at a meeting next month.
Waniewski says the theatre is in a prime location and has great potential.
He'll hold a public forum Thursday night to talk about the project. It's at 6 at the University of Toledo's Driscoll Center.
