This home is our memory care facility. The residents living in this facility have all been diagnosed with some type of dementia.
Many individuals with dementia have a tendency to wander: because of their loss of memory, their is a possibility that they could become lost. To protect these vulnerable residents, this is a building where a code must be entered into a keypad to gain access or egress from the building.
This building is always staffed at a higher level so that we can accommodate each of the residents' individual needs. We recognize that attempting to slow down the progress of dementia requires specialized activities throughout the day: therefore, our specially trained caregivers lead residents in rehabilitative programs on a routine basis.
The Garden House is a one level building that can accommodate 20 residents in private and semi private rooms. The "Great Room" is where everything happens - activities, meals, watching television, etc.
An adjoining fenced courtyard provides an area where residents (with supervision) can visit with family or friends and/or enjoy outdoor activities.
Walkers are welcome at this location.
Princess, our Cocker Spaniel, regularly visits the Garden House residents.
