(WTOL) - A Teap Party group called the Ohio Liberty Council is one of the first grass roots movements in the nation challenging healthcare reform. They have written an amendment saying people should have the right to choose whether to buy health insurance.
So far, members have collected 3,000 of the 4,000 signatures needed to put the amendment on the November ballot.
"What happens when we start to choose, especially language that is coming down from the federal level, is we're making choices in people's personal behavior," said Christopher Littleton of the Ohio Liberty Council.
If passed, the "Ohio Healthcare Freedom Act" would stop any Ohio law from forcing any person, employer or healthcare provider to participate in a health care system.
