NEAR ADRIAN, MI (WTOL) - Seven people have been arrested by the FBI in Ohio, Indiana and Michigan.
The FBI said Sunday agents conducted raids in Michigan, Indiana and Ohio and arrested at least three people, and a militia leader in Michigan said the target of at least one of the raids was a Christian militia group.
Federal warrants were sealed, but a federal law enforcement official speaking on condition of anonymity said some of those arrested face gun charges and officials are pursuing other suspects.
Some of the arrests happened just outside Adrian, MI in Dover Township Sunday night.
Helicopters, foot patrols, Michigan State Police, FBI, and a tank were seen in Lenawee County since Saturday evening.
Resident Christina Lamb says folks said the group was "KKK. That they're making bombs. That they have a whole bunch of drugs and guns."
The law enforcement agencies focused on a mobile home.
Charlotte Hardy lives nearby and says she had noticed activity, like gun fire and large gatherings, at the mobile home.
"They would have their get togethers every couple weeks," Hardy said. "If they're militia, I can't say for certain."
Lenawee County was not the only community raided Sunday. The FBI, along with local law enforcement, performed raids in Erie County as well, searching through communities in Sandusky and Huron.
Two people were arrested in those raids.
Federal authorities were also seen raiding a home in Hammond, IN, which is on the Indiana-Illinois border.
The FBI says it did arrest one person inside the home.
The FBI in Illinois says all the raids in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana are part of an ongoing investigation led by the FBI in Michigan.
