TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - The Glass City Marathon, which was sponsored by WTOL, raised more than $10,000 for Give Autism the Boot Sunday morning.

More than 5,000 people, the largest group of runners and walkers to ever take part in the race, helped raised money for autism.

Mandy Craig ran for personal goals and just wanted to finish the race without walking.

Penny Hauge ran for those who couldn't. "My friend's daughter has disabilities," Hauge said.

Tim Whitney, with the Team Toledo Triathlon Club, passed out water.

"We pass out good cheer, a lot of enthusiasm and that's what makes a marathon fun," said Whitney.

Ryan Greutman, who finished first in the half-marathon in the 2010 and 2009 race, said he liked the course better than last year's. "I think this will be a really fast course for people to set some good times on."
