SANDUSKY, OH (AP) - A fire has damaged a wooden roller coaster at Ohio's Cedar Point amusement park.
The Sandusky Register reports Thursday that a five-foot-section of track on the Mean Streak coaster burned Tuesday night. Firefighters kept the fire from spreading and causing serious damage.
The cause is unclear. The park in northern Ohio is open Friday-Sunday through Halloween, but the Mean Streak will be closed until next season. A Cedar Point spokesman says the park already had planned to shut down the ride for maintenance before the upcoming weekend.
