Fire contained at Toledo Jeep plant

TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) – Toledo fire crews have contained a two-alarm fire at the Kuka facility at the Toledo Jeep complex on Stickney Avenue in north Toledo Thursday.

According to Chrysler spokesperson Jodi Tinson, the fire broke out in a box of air filters, which is part of the air handling system on one of the building's roofs, at what is known as Supplier Park.

Tinson says workers in the plant where the fire broke out and also workers at a nearby plant were evacuated as a precaution, but that they will be headed back inside shortly.

She also says the fire has not impacted Jeep Wrangler production at the complex.
