TOLEDO -- The mother of suspected child rapist Kevin Ware is also facing charges. On Wednesday afternoon, a grand jury indicted her for sexual battery in a case police are calling "a first" and extremely disturbing.
Police arrested Ware nearly two weeks ago and charged him with raping a 7-year-old girl on several occasions. He was the girl's babysitter several days a week, and police say he may have taken naked pictures of the child.
While investigating Ware on that charge, Toledo Police detectives asked Ware if the 7-year-old ever saw him having sex with anyone else. He answered yes, the girl had seen him having sex with his mother. According to the police report, when the girl asked, Ware said they told her they were having sex, and it felt good.
That mother is 54-year-old Terry Walker. During questioning, Ware said he was having sex with her twice a day for the last 4 to 6 years. As she got older, the police report said, Ware said their activity tapered off to once a day.
During an interview with police, Walker reportedly said she was upset about the discovery, saying what she does in her own house shouldn't be anyone else's business.
Walker must now wait for her arraignment to be scheduled in court. As for her son, his bond is still set at $300,000.
Count on News 11 to follow this case as it develops.
