La Paz County, AZ

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHOENIX HAS ISSUED A

* SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR...
CENTRAL LA PAZ COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL ARIZONA...

* UNTIL 930 PM MST

* AT 729 PM MST THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE ADVISORY AREA HAVE PRODUCED
HEAVY RAIN EARLIER IN THE EVENING. DOPPLER RADAR ESTIMATES THAT OVER
TWO INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN SOUTHWEST OF BOUSE THIS EVENING
CAUSING BOUSE WASH TO FILL.

SPOTTERS IN BOUSE HAVE REPORTED THE WASH FLOWING AT THREE TO FOUR
FEET DEEP CAUSING PROBLEMS ON LOCAL ROADS INCLUDING JOSHUA DRIVE AND
PLOMOSA ROAD.

* LOCATIONS THAT MAY EXPERIENCE MINOR FLOODING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT
LIMITED TO...LOCAL ROADS ON THE SOUTH AND WEST SIDE OF BOUSE
ADJACENT TO BOUSE WASH.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. NEVER DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO
AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY. JUST ONE FOOT OF FLOWING
WATER CAN BE POWERFUL ENOUGH TO SWEEP VEHICLES OFF THE ROAD. WHEN
ENCOUNTERING FLOODED ROADS MAKE THE SMART CHOICE...TURN AROUND...DONT
DROWN.

RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE NORMALLY DRY WASHES TO RUN AND
CAUSE CONSIDERABLE PONDING OF WATER ON ROADS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.
UNBRIDGED CROSSINGS MAY BECOME TOO DANGEROUS FOR DRIVING.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. REMEMBER...TURN AROUND...DONT DROWN.
