TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Elena Yakumithis, 6, died at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center Wednesday night after she was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Heatherdowns and Byrne in south Toledo.

Police say Kelly Yakumithis was driving east on Heatherdowns around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday when her vehicle ran out of gas. She headed for a gas station with her daughter and another child who'd been in the vehicle. As they crossed the street, Elena was hit by Patricia Parker.

No one has been cited for the incident.
