State Trooper Thomas Alexander is listed in fair condition.
WILLIAMS COUNTY (WTOL) - The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a state trooper was injured in an accident on the Ohio Turnpike Thursday morning.
Trooper Thomas Alexander, 41, was making a routine stop when his cruiser was struck from behind by a Fed Ex semi truck. Alexander was outside of his cruiser at the time of the crash. He was taken by LifeFlight to University of Toledo Medical Center where he is listed in fair condition.
Carol Thomas, 44, was driving the mini van that was pulled over for the traffic stop. She was taken to Montpelier Hospital where she was treated and released.
The accident happened in Williams County at Mile Marker 13, which is just west of the Bryan-Montpelier exit.
