Overnight French Toast (Prepare the night before)
Combine in a bowl:
1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
¨ö cup melted butter
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 tart apples peeled and thinly sliced
¨ö cup dried cranberries
Toss ingredients to coat well and place in a 13x9 inch baking dish or 2 8 or 9 inch cake pans
Slice one loaf French bread into 1-inch thick slices. Place on top of apple mixture.
In a bowl mix:
6 large eggs
1 ¨ö cups milk
1 Tbsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cinnamon
Pour over the bread mixture.
Cover with foil and place in refridgerator overnight.
Bake covered in 370¢ª oven for 40 minutes. Bake uncovered 5 minutes more. Let stand 5 minutes. Serve warm with maple syrup.
