The Port Authority has about $17 million in federal and state money committed to building a modern dock structure and a new rail line.
A rail will connect to Canadian National CSX and Norfolk Southern. And in addition, they have about 100 acres available for warehouses and manufacturing.
So the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority and Mid-West Terminal have huge plans for the Ironville Docks property.
Once this project is completed, Ironville will be an attractive site for businesses which require easy access to the Great Lakes.
Northwest Ohio needs the Port of Toledo. It is critical that the plans are in place and the money has been provided, to make the future of the port brighter and more prosperous.
