The Jamie Farr LPGA Tournament just enjoyed its 25th year in Northwest Ohio.
The tournament was a huge success. And it has a history of being successful.
But professional golf is feeling this economic crunch, too. At this moment, there is no contract for next year's tournament. Even the perfect weather, the exceptional crowds and the great golf can't make the economic realities of today go away.
I have attended every Jamie Farr Tournament in the past 10 years. It is a wonderful showcase for our market.
And the corporate support has always been there.
It will be a real loss if this proves to be the final year. Jamie Farr is proud of his hometown, and for a few days every summer we get to show the rest of the world why.
I hope this isn't over.
