(WTOL) - Nine-year-old Tiana Bishop is -- and this is putting it mildly -- a determined young lady.
It is true that when she was diagnosed three months ago with Rabdo-Sarcoma, a cancerous tumor that was breaking the bones in her back, she got depressed -- until she was able to figure out a way to be a normal fourth-grader.
Her teacher, Julie Rubenstein, and the other children decided to take the classroom to Tiana. The school arranged for a laptop and web-cam that connect Tiana to her class. The community and parent groups helped fund it.
Taking part in school is helping take Tiana away from the stress of fighting cancer and giving her the mental boost she needs.
