TOLEDO, Ohio (WTOL) - The Give Autism The Boot campaign gave back to Northwest Ohio by awarding $75,000 to 16 different groups that help autistic children and their families Thursday night.
WTOL's own Melissa Voetsch was on hand for the event.
Dan Ball, a Springfield firefighter, was given the Tyner Award of Excellence for his dedication to making Give Autism The Boot a success.
"The need in our area is tremendous ... Families are affected and there's lots of times they have to go elsewhere for services, so we're doing all that we can to make sure that families can stay right here in Toledo or Northwest Ohio," said The Great Lakes Center for Autism’s Catina Harding.
WTOL is proud to be a part of the amazing organization.
