CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Jeff and Anne Collins were devastated when Jeff lost his job. The 52 year old had worked for 30 years in construction. But even 30 years couldn't survive the economy.
The tears dried up fast though, as the couple got busy living out a dream.
Jeff is a classically trained opera singer. He also belts out a mean Elvis. Jeff and Anne hit the road as "King Shazzam".
Decked out in full Elvis get-up, Jeff sings at local restaurants and retirement homes. The couple says "King Shazaam" is starting to pick up more gigs. It's not paying all the bills, but it's fulfilling a dream to be happy. Jeff says it beats a steady paycheck any day.
