The list of people who have 10 or more red light camera violations is 30 pages long. One person has 42 violations.
We can all run a light by being inattentive. It happens. But for the people on this list, I have no sympathy. These are drivers who repeatedly make a conscious decision to speed through intersections.
This isn't just about running a red light. More than anything, this stupid act endangers anyone else who happens to be legally going through the light. When a person races through the red light they are demonstrating a total disregard for the welfare of other drivers. Drivers who are obeying not just the law, but also common sense.
If you believe these cameras are too much of a big brother thing, you just might change your mind if a thoughtless and reckless moron slammed into your car or the car of someone you love. Enough already.
