(WTOL) - Police arrested 19-year-old Corey James Lorton after tips came in to CrimeStoppers following a WTOL Predator Alert segment featuring Lorton.
Lorton had two boys hold down his female friend when he was 16 to rape her, according to police. When she struggled, he then tried to perform sex acts on her, then let her go.
He was convicted of attempted rape in 2006 when he was still a juvenile, so his sex offender status was not public record.
He must register as a sex offender every 90 days but failed to do so last November, which is a felony.
