WTOL Editorial: Crowds are display of progress downtown
Vice President and General Manager of WTOL Bob Chirdon
TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
Thousands of fans will fill the seats of Fifth Third Field this summer to root for the Toledo Mud Hens. Most likely, these fans will have a really good time. The beautiful ball park sets the stage for a positive impression of downtown.
And now, sports and entertainment fans can also have fun at the brand new Huntington Center. Just last weekend, Carrie Underwood and Elton John packed the house in two separate shows. Events like "Walking with Dinosaurs," ice shows and concerts will continue to bring people downtown because the Huntington Center exists.
I like looking around downtown and seeing crowds of happy people. It feels like progress!
