Memorial Day means a lot more than a three-day weekend. I urge everyone to take a few moments away from the fun and think about our veterans.
Memorial Day is about remembering these brave men and women.
Being a soldier has always been difficult, demanding and, yes, life-threatening. Yet millions of patriotic men and women chose, and continue to choose, to serve. And many of them paid the ultimate price to protect our way of life.
So, sometime this weekend, between that next ballgame or hot dog or beer, say a silent thank you. These were brave people who believed that America was worth fighting for. They and their families deserve to be remembered and honored.
