WTOL 11, Kroger offer discounted weather alert radios

(Toledo News Now) -

A CommunityTrack 11 event made possible by NBOH, Kroger and Yark Automotive:

A weather radio can be a lifesaving tool for alerting your family to dangerous weather approaching your community. That is why WTOL 11 and Kroger have teamed up to program weather alert radios that warn you in case of severe weather and other local hazards.

In conjunction with Midland Radio Corp., Kroger stores are offering the Midland All-Hazard Weather Alert Radio at a discount price of $29.99 plus tax ($20 off the retail price). For every 10 radios sold, Midland Radio will donate a radio to a WTOL viewer.

The Midland WR-100 radio can be programmed to receive weather alerts for just the county where a viewer lives - or for up to 25 counties anywhere in Ohio and Michigan. A weather radio can be a life-saving tool. It can wake you up during the night to alert you to approaching tornadoes or other severe storms.

The Midland All Hazards Alert Weather Radio features:

- SAME localized reception
- 7 NOAA channels
- Digital panel display
- 25 programmable counties
- User warning system including Amber and Homeland Security alerts selectable
- Choice of voice, siren, or tone alert
- Time and alarm clock with full display
- Emergency power back-up, uses 3 AA batteries (not included)
- AC wall adapter included
- Public certified

The WTOL weather radio promotion is sponsored by Midland Radio Corp. and Kroger. You can purchase a weather radio at any of our events at Kroger.
