(WTOL) - A group called the "Gang of Five" has committed crimes throughout northwest Ohio, police say.
They were caught on tape during an armed robbery of the Fifth Third Bank in Sylvania. Police say the five men are all relatively short, standing at 5'8" or under. They're all 20-30 years old.
The gang is becoming aggressive and violent. Shots were fired at the Sylvania bank robbery, but no one was injured.
Retired Toledo Police Sergeant Richard Murphy says the suspects have robbed three businesses in the past month throughout Lucas County and one in Monroe County.
If you see these suspects or anyone committing a crime, Murphy advises not to approach them. "Call the police or the FBI immediately and stay a distance away," he said.
Additionally, Murphy suggests getting as much information as you can including descriptions of the person and his or her clothing. Also look for vehicle descriptions.
"These punks have to be stopped before they hurt someone seriously or kill someone," said Murphy.
Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStopper at 419-255-1111.
