TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Firefighters are investigating another case of arson after a fire broke out at a vacant home in the 100 block of Mitchell in south Toledo just after 1 a.m. Sunday.
Firefighters say the vacant house was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived and that the home was intentionally set on fire.
Fire crews battled the blaze from the outside only, taking an offensive action against the flames, but the fire spread to some nearby trees.
"Crews coming down the trail could see it burning," said Toledo Fire Department Battalion Chief Jerry Abair. "The second floor was fully involved and the roof was collapsing already so we kept the crews outside, just a surround and drowned type operation."
If you know who set this fire, call CrimeStopper at 419-255-1111. You could be eligible for a $25,000 reward.
