(WTOL) - Lucas County Sheriff's Deputies need your help finding the man who raped a child and then squatted in the basement of a UT campus building.
News 11 first told you about Lawrence Watkins, 37, last year when he found housing by breaking into a building on the UT campus. After featuring him as a wanted sex offender someone on the UT campus said he was staying there.
He raped a 5-year-old back in 2001.
He served four years behind bars and must register as a sex offender every 90 days.
Watkins was released in May and sent the sheriff's office a letter stating he does not plan to register as a sex offender.
He wrote, "I intend to reside in an American territory which does not have any registration requirements. Therefore, I will not be there in your office to verify my lack of residence."
Deputies say the letter was sent from Chicago.
If you know where Watkins might be, call CrimeStopper at 419-255-1111.
