TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Toledoans recently got a sneak peak at the Chevy Cruze when a pre-production model was shown off at Toledo Powertrain.
With the locally-made six-speed transmission going into the Cruze, Oregon car dealer Greg Dunn says it has the potential of becoming another local auto legend.
"With Jeep being local, everybody kind of feels Jeep is part of Toledo and part of Ohio," he said. "When you put together Lordstown being in Ohio and Powertrain being part of it, I'm hoping it's going to give it that Jeep local feel, and the Cruze will be the next Jeep for everybody around here."
With fuel efficiency in high demand, Dunn says the new model should help attract new customers to the Chevy brand. He says it gets close to 40 mpg while being a compact car that feels like a mid-size.
The cars should begin arriving on dealer lots in the next two weeks.
