The Toledo City Council is considering a 3 year deal to provide money for the newly-formed Downtown Toledo Development Corporation.

Known by the acronym DTDC, this group will work with both private and government partners to develop business opportunities specifically for downtown.

The DTDC should not be confused with the DTID, which is the Downtown Toledo Improvement District. In spite of the similar names, the purpose of each is very different.

One will hopefully retain and or develop business, while the other maintains a clean and safe environment for visitors, businesses and residents.

In addition, Toledo City Council recently provided about $200,000 in funding to the LCIC, which is the Lucas County Improvement Corporation.

This money will fund a county-wide effort to attract new tenants as part of the EDB or the Economic Development Business in the Mayor's office.

Let me add a few letters to this alphabet soup.  FFMBWERS. Which stands for, Fine For Now But We Expect Results Soon.

If you have some acronyms that you would like to share, comment below. Just keep it clean.
