I received a call from Taryn Tuss of the White House Council on Environmental Quality. She told me the President wanted the people living by the Great Lakes to know how committed his administration is to combating this Asian Carp invasion.
I offered to conduct a satellite interview with her boss. She is yet to get that arranged.
In the meantime the Obama Administration released the 2011 Asian Carp Control Strategy Framework. AsianCarp.org is the official government website that details the President's initiatives.
I read the report and it doesn't fill me with confidence the same way the video of this voracious and destructive fish fills me with dread.
I think we better keep the heat on our Congressional representatives. We are in uncharted waters.
The Asian Carp is yet to be stopped and while we study the problem, it is swimming ever closer.
