TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) – A desperate family contacted Call 11 For Action after raw sewage began overflowing into their rental home in Toledo Saturday.

William Kottke and Alexis Vaughan say water flooded their bathroom each time they flush the toilet or fill up the tub.

Next, the water would back up in their toilet or tub and end up leaking out across the bathroom floor.

"It starts seeping out right here between the floor and toilet," said Kottke.

Since the problem started, the couple has had to mop up pools of filth and have been unable to shower or use the toilet because of the backup. Plus, they are worried about their six-month-old daughter's health because of the stench.

The couple says despite repeated calls to the landlord, he did not show up until Wednesday.

Kottke says the landlord should have just come over, checked out the problem and called someone.

And even after the landlord arrived, the two were still worried he wouldn't fix the problem.

"I want him to get rid of everything that has this water, this mold on it. I want it gone," said Kottke.

As a result, Call 11 For Action's Matt Wright contacted the landlord who said he would fix the plumbing problems.

Within hours, a plumber came out and repaired bathroom.
