EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - North Carolina beat No. 1 Michigan State 79-65 Wednesday night, giving the Tar Heels another impressive victory in their inconsistent season. It was the first time Michigan State has fallen to an unranked nonconference team at home in more than a decade. The Tar Heels took control from the start and never trailed.
MILWAUKEE (AP) -The Detroit Pistons rode a strong second-half performance to defeat the Milwaukee Bucks 105-98 Wednesday night. Andre Drummond had 24 points and 19 rebounds for the Pistons, who had three players with double-doubles and had five score 15 or more points.
DETROIT (AP) -The Philadelphia Flyers scored four goals in third period to rally for a 6-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night. Tomas Tatar scored twice and center Johan Franzen also scored for Detroit. Jimmy Howard made 28 saves.
DETROIT (AP) - The Detroit Tigers have agreed to terms with free agent reliever Joe Nathan on a two-year contract with a club option for 2016. The deal accomplishes one of their main objectives this offseason by adding one of baseball's most accomplished closers to the bullpen. Nathan was with the Rangers last season.
