LEBANON, OH (FOX19) -

Testimony continued Thursday in the Marcus Isreal trial as jurors watched an interview detectives did with Marcus Isreal after he was placed in custody.

Isreal, 23, is charged with murder for hitting and killing Sgt. Brian Dulle, a Warren County Sheriff's Deputy, during a chase on May 10.

During the interview, Isreal tried to tell detectives that someone else was driving, a friend named JJ. He said JJ picked him up at the Take a Break Lounge in Middletown, then drove to Franklin, where the case began. He said JJ was driving erratically and didn't want to stop for police because he had a gun.

He also told police that JJ drove like he was trying to hit the police, but didn't remember hitting a police car.

Testimony earlier Thursday morning from the Miami Valley Crime Lab revealed that Isreal's fingerprints were on the steering wheel of the car, and investigators were never able to locate anyone named JJ.

Jurors also watched surveillance video of the Take a Break Lounge, where Isreal allegedly stole the black Cadillac involved in the chase and crash.

The video shows Isreal arriving at the bar a little after 12:30 a.m. the morning of May 10. He exits and re-enters a few times before leaving the bar just before 1 a.m.

From there, surveillance video from Cashland, located behind Take a Break, shows Isreal leaving the lounge and getting into the driver's side of the black Cadillac

Testimony resumes Friday morning. The trial is expected to go to the jury by Monday or Tuesday of next week.
