A Lee County man targeted by an e-mail scam wants to warn you about it.
Wallace Williams got an e-mail that looked like it was from Wells Fargo Bank. It directed him to a phishing site: www.Wells-Fargo.com.
The real bank site is www.WellsFargo.com.
The Antivirus software on Williams' computer tipped him off that this was a scam.
Williams says," But as quickly as I landed on that web page it sent me to somewhere else and that's when the anti virus software popped up."
Another indication that the e-mail is a fraud and it has some typographical errors.
If you think you have fallen for a scam like this, you should contact your local law enforcement and the security fraud division of your bank.
