Fulton County flooding causes problems for residents

Posted: Updated:

FULTON COUNTY, OH (WTOL) – The cold, rainy weather has taken its toll on the Village of Fayette in Fulton County. Water covers most of the roads, fields look like lakes, and after a chilly start Wednesday morning everything became covered with about an inch of ice.

Deb Rupp a resident of Fayette, whose neighborhood is submerged in water, said she has lived here 30 years and this is the worst she has ever seen. Rupp said the ditch across the road is so flooded that someone could submerge a car in it and no one would be able to tell.

These hazardous driving conditions forced Fayette School District to cancel classes for the day. Ryan Eberly of Fayette Local Schools said the school was looking out for the safety of their student drivers as well as their bus drivers.

Eberly says that he expects school will resume tomorrow as usual.
