TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - A Big Mac for dinner tonight might mean helping underage girls get off the streets.

The local chapter of the international women's organization Soroptimist is teaming up with a local McDonad's restaurant to raise money for the Toledo charity Second Chance.

Second Chance helps underage girls being sold for sex get off the streets and build a future.

Fifteen percent of the total sales Thursday night at the Sylvania McDonald's on Alexis will be donated to Second Chance.

If you'd like to help the cause, simply buy a meal at the Sylvania McDonalds on Alexis between 5 and 8 p.m. tonight.

Unfortunately, young girls being sold for sex is a common problem in the Toledo area.

For the last four years - the federal bureau of investigation has conducted operation cross county where they find underage prostitutes and their pimps.

Agents say Toledo is a hot spot for the activity due to its proximity to major cities and the interstates that shoot straight through the city. They make arrests in Toledo every year and have found girls as young as 10-years-old being sold for sex online, at truck stops and even out in rural counties.

There will also be another similar event next week at McDonalds by Westfield Franklin Park mall.
