COLUMBUS, OH (WTOL) - A consultant for the Casino Control Commission has recommended the opening of the Hollywood Casino Toledo be delayed.
This is because of delays in the licensing process.
Penn National Gaming wants to open the casino in April, but this consultant recommends pushing that back until June.
The Casino Control Commission has not decided to take action on the recommendation at this point.
Penn national has not commented on this situation.
According to Toledo City Council member George Sarantou, the city of Toledo budgeted 4.5 million dollars in tax revenue this year based on 8 months of operations at the casino.
The loss of months of that revenue will result in a just more than one million dollars less revenue. Sarantou said the loss will not force any layoffs of city workers.
