TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Chrysler's fire brigade battled a fire at a paint shop in Chrysler's Toledo supplier park around 7 a.m. Thursday. Flames were isolated to one paint booth at the Jeep Wrangler plant off of Stickney Avenue.
The Toledo Fire Department said it was a small fire that started in a paint oven after a pan used for catching excess lubricant flashed and ignited.
Chrysler's own workers, who are trained to fight fires like this, had the majority of the flames out before fire crews got there.
One Chrysler worker was evaluated at the scene for possible smoke inhalation, but was not taken to the hospital.
Chrysler officials said the fire did affect production for a while but they expect everything to be back to normal.
Damage is estimated at around $10,000.
