TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) – Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur picked up the endorsement of several leaders of Toledo's Latino community Wednesday.
The leaders stood behind Kaptur at a press conference holding a sign that said "Latinos for Kaptur". They say Rep. Kaptur has stood up for them over the years, so they are standing up for her.
"Thank you for coming here today to help us communicate a message across this district and across this region that this seat belongs to the people of this region who give voice at the national level to concerns that flow from the lives of people here," said Kaptur.
Ohio's 9th Congressional District, which Kaptur represents, was re-drawn last year and now stretches west to include sections of Cuyahoga County in the Cleveland area, putting Kaptur in a primary battle against fellow Democratic Congressmen Dennis Kucinich.
