Sandusky County Courthouse requests more security

Posted: Updated:

SANDUSKY COUNTY, OH (WTOL) – The judges at the Sandusky County Courthouse have requested increased security in order to cover shifts which have been recently neglected.

In order to cover gaps in security presence during the day, leaders hope to add one more security officer. Currently, two part time officers cover the shifts.

The Sandusky County Commissioners, the sheriff's office and judges have created a panel to address the security issues at the courthouse.

They hope to adjust the schedules to allow someone to always be on duty a half hour before employees arrive, and a half hour after they leave.

County leaders says there have never been any major security issues at the courthouse, but the issue of security is brought up every year.
