TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - Ohio Governor John Kasich is
declaring a state-wide "war" against human trafficking.
This week the Governor
declared that over 1,000 Ohio children have been forced into the sex trade and
will provide more manpower, specifically in Toledo, to combat the problem.
Kasich's plan includes
placing a member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol's Hub Unit onto the federal,
state and local task force that operates in Toledo.
The Attorney Generals will be releasing a law
enforcement manual to help officers spot the signs of human trafficking.
State Officials also plan to send officers to
places and events that may attract trafficking such as Toledo's upcoming casino.
