Tiffin police dog, Tommy, loses his battle with cancer

TIFFIN, OH (WTOL) - Tommy, a retired police dog from Tiffin, lost his battle with cancer on Monday. Police partner Jake Demonte confirmed the news.

The canine officer was diagnosed with lymphoma last year. Vets gave him a very good chance to beat the cancer, but it turned out to be a more rare and aggressive form.

Officers plan to organize a fundraiser in the future to get a new dog for the unit.
