FREMONT, OH (WTOL) - A Fremont Police Officer is on paid administrative leave, pending an investigation into "workplace violence" and "threatening, intimidating or physically abusing an employee."
Officer Michael Dohanos was placed on leave Friday, March 2nd. The police department is conducting an internal investigation into the allegations.
Chief Tim Wiersma declined to comment on the allegations and investigation. He said Fremont Police Captain is looking to a series of events that took place both inside and outside of the police department on February 28th while Officer Dohanos was on-duty. Chief Wiersma said the events involved other police department employees and did not involve the public.
According to a letter to Officer Dohanos from Fremont Safety Service Director Marc Glotzbecker, the accusations are a Group III offense. Chief Wiersma said Group III offenses are punishable by termination.

According to Officer Dohanos's personnel file, he was most recently reprimanded February 27th, 2012 for inefficiency due to incomplete reports and investigations.
Chief Wiersma said Officer Dohanos will be interviewed by the department on Wednesday and has been ordered to take a mental health evaluation.
