TOLEDO, OH (WTOL) - The Toledo Police are investigating two murders that happened overnight Sunday.
The first happened when two men were shot Sunday just after midnight at Langdon and Western avenues in south Toledo.
Detectives say Raul and Santiago Izquierdo were walking home from a bar when they were confronted by Hispanic man, who then opened fire.
Raul was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say Santiago was hit twice and taken by life squad to the Toledo Hospital and is expected to survive.
A heartbroken mother and uncle talk about Raul and their loss.
"Kind, joking all the time. Never disrespected no one in the family. Never disrespected anybody. Everybody in the neighborhood loved him. He was always like, he would give you the shirt off his back. He would do it. That's the way he was," says Aurora Izquierdo, mother of the victims.
Raul's mother says her son served time for an assault charge but had turned his life around.
No arrests have been made.
The second murder happened just after 2 a.m. Sunday at Monroe Street and Auburn Avenue.
Police say Torian Tall, 25, was shot behind a gas station. He was taken to Mercy Saint Vincent's but died shortly after arriving.
Detectives have been interviewing witnesses, but do not have anyone in custody.
