Fire crews are investigating a suspicious fire that started around 3:30 a.m. at the corner of Pinewood and Hawley in central Toledo.
TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Both Hawley and Pinewood have opened again as Toledo crews finish up at the scene of a house fire in the area.
The investigation is ongoing. The fire chief says there was a strong smell of gasoline in the back of the house when firefighters arrived. That is where they believe the fire started. They will be looking into arson as a possible cause.
It began around 3:30 a.m., and heavy smoke filled the area. Wind blew the smoke for miles around the city.
The roof was fully engulfed when crews arrived, and a portion of it has collapsed.
No one was hurt in the blaze. The house did have power but no furniture. Investigators say someone may have been moving in or moving out of the home.
