19 Action News has obtained exclusive video from the night police say a man went on a shooting rampage at Cracker Barrel, killing his wife and two daughters.
The State BCI (Bureau of Criminal Investigation) just released dash cam video of police arriving on scene. The video is significant since officers did not go into the restaurant during the deadly shooting.
The video appears to have come from the second police car to arrive on scene.
Last month, a Katherina Allen called police while dining at Cracker Barrel with her husband, Kevin Allen and two 10-year-old daughters, Kerri and Kayla.
Katherina reportedly told Kevin that their marriage was over, sending Kevin into a deadly rage. Police say Kevin Allen left the restaurant, got his gun, then went back inside fatally shooting all three.
Police radio tapes have shown officers gathering outside, even as Allen went on his rampage just feet away inside. This video shows police arriving, and raises more question about what police did and did not do on scene.
19 Action News had to put up a legal fight to get the tape released. Still, investigators only gave up part of the tape.
Last week, the Brooklyn Police Department's response to the shooting was questioned. Now that police dash cam video has been released, response tactics may be questioned again.
