YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (AP) - Firefighters in the northeast Ohio city of Youngstown say they responded to 13 fires in a 20-hour period, and most of them are suspected arsons.
A blaze at a tire recycling plant Wednesday night was followed by a series of fires at vacant houses on one side of town. Fire chief John O'Neill says he doesn't believe the plant fire is related to the later fires that appeared to be intentionally set.
The Vindicator reports a 36-year-old Youngstown man previously convicted of arson was being held as a suspect in fires at two homes once owned by his grandfather.
Arson investigator Alvin Ware says authorities are trying to figure out if the same man might be connected to more of the fires.
