Crews battling fire at Lucas County Jail, intersection closed - ToledoNewsNow.com: News, Weather & Sports for Toledo, OH

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) – The intersection of Jackson St. and Spielbusch Ave. is closed in downtown Toledo due to a fire at the Lucas County Jail.

Officials say a fire broke out in an elevator mechanical room in the basement of the jail.  Smoke has poured into the first floor of the jail, which houses administrative offices. 

No inmates have been removed from their cells at this time and there is no danger to them or the public.
