Police break up massive party at vacant west Toledo home

TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) – Toledo Police arrested several people following a massive weekend party in west Toledo. When police arrived, they found loud music, underage drinking and a whole lot of chaos.

It happened Saturday at a vacant home near Walker and Sylvania. According to police, there were more than 250 people in and around the home. Police even found several topless girls.

An officer responding to a complaint about the party, reported smelling marijuana and said he was nearly hit by two full cans of beer, which were thrown from an upstairs window.

As more officers arrived to break up the bash, people began running away. Some jumped out of windows, and shoved others in their way.

Toledo Police arrested five people with charges including disorderly conduct, rioting and obstructing official business.

Donald Schrickel, 21, told police the home was his father's rental property.

Neighbors said the party was a disruption.

"Hearing the squealing of the tires down the street, people walking. I had beer bottles out in front of my house," said Frances Diaz.

Even after police thought they had cleared the party scene, officers had to go back as some of the partiers tried to return.
