Marcy Kaptur is proud of the progress made on the Veterans Administration Clinic and feels the community will be too.TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) - Toledo's new Veterans Administration Clinic does not open until the fall, but Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur got a first look inside.
Kaptur and Robert McDivitt, director of the VA Ann Arbor Health Care System, went on the tour Tuesday morning. The clinic is currently under construction on the University of Toledo Medical Center campus in south Toledo.
Kaptur said the new clinic is double the size and more accessible than the old one. She believes the community will be proud of what it features.
"[Those who have been] service officers and volunteers for many years, they're gonna get tears in their eyes. I know that already. And for those that have never used the veterans' services, they will find this a very welcoming place," said Kaptur.
The clinic will also have a photo montage to celebrate the veterans.
