
Crews are working through the Fourth of July to try and restore power to customers in northwest Ohio.FINDLAY, OH (Toledo News Now) – The wait continues for people across the area who were hit hard by storms last weekend. The power is still out as Mother Nature cranks up the heat.
There is still a lot to clean up in Findlay, but AEP workers are working through the holiday to try and restore power. Crews have been working 16-hour shifts to restore service as quickly and safely as possible.
There are 8,384 AEP customers without power in Findlay, Ottawa has around 1,700, Bucyrus has 187, and Paulding has 5,671.
Crews expect to have at least 90 percent of the power restored by Saturday night.
AEP is making progress to clear up reports of fallen wires and other hazards across its service territory. Hazard reports currently are at 8,700, down from 11,550.
AEP is asking the public to remain patient while crews work to fix the problems. Anyone who feels they have been missed or there is an area that still needs help can call AEP.
