ROSSFORD, OH (TOLEDO NEWS NOW) - Firefighters spent the night battling a blaze at a greenhouse in Rossford.
One firefighter from Perrysburg Township was treated for heat exhaustion. There were five departments who responded to the scene.
The fire began around 11:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Glenwood Road between Wales Road and the interstate in Rossford. The greenhouse was made of wood and was not in use. Crews say it was close, but they were able to contain the fire to that one structure. It almost jumped to an adjacent greenhouse.
Several greenhouses burned to the ground, along with an old barn and some vehicles.
The fire did not reach the main house on the property, which was 20 yards away.
No one was injured.
The fire and smoke was huge and could be seen for miles. At one point, the fire was so large it could easily been seen from I-75. One witness said flames reached nearly 100'.
The greenhouse was in a rural area, and nearby homes were not affected.
There is no definite cause of the fire.
